Nominate Excellence in Our Industry!

Click on the AWARDS NOMINATIONS FORM​ and complete no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Nominees will be compiled and forwarded to CAI's Awards Selection Committee who will vote for the award recipient for each category. Recipients will be recognized at the Awards Gala

All nominees MUST be members in good standing the CAI San Diego Chapter.  

Criteria for Nominations:

1. All nominees must be members in good standing of the San Diego Chapter.

2.  All nominators must be members in good standing of the San Diego Chapter.

3.  All nominees for an award must meet the specific criteria for that award or they will automatically be disqualified.

4.  All award nominators shall remain anonymous to the selection committee.

5.  No self-nominations are allowed.

6.  Current Chapter board members are not eligible to be nominated for awards.

7. Recent award recipients are not eligible to be nominated for the same award.

8. The three highest scoring education programs based on evaluations shall be considered the Educational Program nominees.

9.  The Publications Committee shall select the top three articles for nomination.

10. The Awards Selection committee shall be made up of the current Chapter Executive Committee plus the immediate two Past Presidents who are currently members in good standing of the Chapter.

11. If any nominee is an employee of an Awards Selection Committee company, that Awards Selection Committee member will abstain from voting in the selection of that category.

12. Nominations will close at 5:00 pm Monday, January 13, 2025.

13. Award Nominees receive a discounted rate of $205 per person (limit 2 attendees) for the Awards Gala.

AWARD CATEGORY EXPLANATIONS

CHAPTER AWARDS - Based on participation within the San Diego Chapter

RISING STAR - Business Partner 

Presented to a new (0-2 years) Chapter member who recently became actively engaged in the Chapter and demonstrated a high level of commitment and participation. This award honors a newer member who has risen to challenges in an outstanding supporting role of CAI-San Diego this year through participation on a committee or other volunteer capacity.

RISING Star - Manager 

Presented to a new (0-2 years) Chapter member who recently became actively engaged in the Chapter and demonstrated a high level of commitment and participation. This award honors a newer member who has risen to challenges in an outstanding supporting role of CAI-San Diego this year through participation on a committee or other volunteer capacity.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

This award will recognize members who have been exemplary in their involvement in the CAI San Diego chapter in 2024, going above and beyond to serve the Chapter.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS - Based on achievement within the industry

MANAGER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Presented to community managers who have exhibited and supported the value of education and ethics and have shown dedication to the industry, their company, and clients. The awards will be given based on the community manager's tenure. There are two categories for the award:

0-5 years - Rookie of the Year

6+ years - Veteran

BOARD MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Presented to a community association board member who has made significant contributions to the association and promotes a sense of community.  The awards will be given based on a board member's tenure with their association.

0-5 years - Rookie of the Year

6+ years - Veteran

BUSINESS PARTNER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Presented to a business partner who has made significant contributions to one or more association clients or the industry as a whole and have supported the value of education and ethics in the industry. 

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Presented to an outstanding individual who has been instrumental in the Chapter's and the industry's success. The recipient is an individual who has proved exemplary leadership and demonstrated the ideals and objectives of CAI through active participation at the local, regional and/or national level. This award encompasses a lifetime of achievement and not a singular contribution, no matter how monumental.  The recipient will be announced in advance of the Awards Gala to fully honor this accomplishment.

COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR

A community that should be recognized for something phenomenal they did in 2024.

The Chapter will have a LIMITED room block for the event at a discounted rate of $279 plus service fees, taxes and parking. Rooms will be available until January 2, 2025 or until sold out. Check back here for the link which will be available SOON. An email notice will also go out when the reservation link is available. 

Valet parking is complimentary for same day drive on, drive off guests. There is a parking fee associated with overnight hotel stays. Hotel guests responsible for all service fees including parking.
